PSA: Check ALL lines

Often times the media dictates what sports we watch based on the contracts they have with different leagues or conferences.  Their promotion of certain games, teams, or even players ultimately has our attention on the TV and/or internet.

A number of weeks ago, on the day after the two College Football National Semi-Finals, and an important day for NFL Playoff seedlings and berth clinching, there was some college basketball action.  The specific game we are speaking of was the Navy vs. Virginia game.  The reason this is noteworthy is because the over/under opened at 98.  98!  This article isn’t a debate as to whether that line was appropriate or not, but rather there was something that jumped out to us.  In our opinion, that was entirely too low, even for a Virginia game (the final total ended at 121). The handle on a mid season NCAA basketball game would be significantly less than that of the NFL games that day.  But, true professionals know to check all lines, in all leagues, not just what is televised or promoted.

As we have said before, a dollar won on SEC Football on a Saturday in prime time has the same value as MAC Basketball on a Tuesday night.  The point is this... Just because it is a certain season, or a “big game” is on, don’t forget to make the rounds on ALL available lines that you know something about.
